In 1983 Lloyd and Candy Traven opened a humble wholesale greenhouse on a 25-acre historic farm in Upper Bucks County PA, offering begonias and herbs to garden centers in the greater Philadelphia region. Peace Tree Farm was named after the Native American word ‘tohikon’, which translates to ‘peace tree’. Over the past 33 years, Peace Tree has grown into an operation that produces starter plants and finished pots of USDA Certified Organic herbs and vegetables, unique foliage and flowering plants, succulents, and heirloom begonias. With a focus on superior plants and genetics, state-of-the-art greenhouses, and environmentally-friendly sustainable techniques, Peace Tree is able to provide superb quality plants to fine independent garden centers, botanical gardens and museums, and all enthusiastic gardeners.
