Hungry is part of a larger food education movement that recognizes food as being greater than what tastes good or what is a healthy choice for the individual. Food not only feeds us but also defines us as a culture. Hungry believes that in order to become a food-smart generation, we need to educate both ourselves and our children. Hungry delivers on the promise of connecting family and children through food and learning with signature classes, workshops, events, and partnerships.
Megan Haupt, Hungry founder & CEO, has been a food educator for over 12 years, teaching adults and children in community-based settings. She believes that food education must meet people where they are in order to be effective, and that educating the entire family is essential to help kids become food-smart. Her areas of interest include: food history, food science, and food culture.
