High Street on Market, opened in the fall of 2013 by Ellen Yin and Executive Chef Eli Kulp, has received nationwide attention for its seamless integration of ambitious bakery, cafe, and destination dining. In the two and a half years since, High Street on Market was the Philadelphia Inquirer’s best new restaurant of 2014, Bon Appetit Magazine dubbed it their #2 Best New Restaurant in the country in 2014, and Travel and Leisure Magazine named it one of the best new restaurants in the world. The individuals making up the team led by Yin and Kulp have themselves received recognition as rising young stars by Zagat, Billy Penn, Food & Wine Magazine, the James Beard Foundation and more. In the summer of 2015, the High Street Hospitality Group partnered with Plowshare Farms to create a local farm market in Old City, Philadelphia, and began vending its baked goods at farmers’ markets run by the Farm to City organization. The success of its concept and support both in and outside the city led to the opening of a New York offshoot, High Street on Hudson, in December of 2015.
